Promises long-term success
It took me some time to read this book. It calls for conscious co-operation and offers exercises that can be incorporated into everyday life and have a different focus each week. One chapter corresponds to one week, at the end of which all the exercises to be completed are listed again.
Please do not bypass these exercises, as the desired change in behaviour is based on them. Through mindfulness training, you try to influence your own reactivity in favour of presence, which has even been proven to bring about physical changes in the brain. By being more relaxed and actively and emphatically aware of the current situation, children also feel seen and accepted, which naturally increases their willingness to cooperate. But it also creates closeness and mutual understanding.
All of this reminds me very much of attachment- and needs-orientated parenting. However, this book does not give any parenting advice, but starts elsewhere. On the behaviour of parents and guardians and how this can be positively changed.
A great approach, which in my opinion promises long-term changes. The exercises and the time allotted to them help to generate new behavioural patterns. However, this is only possible if you actively implement them. Some of them will be easier, others much more difficult. But they all require attention and the will to change. Otherwise, this book won't be able to do much. So it is entirely up to you.

After a brief introduction to the basics, this book very quickly moves on to the practical exercises, which are themselves accompanied by an explanatory text. The writing style is somewhat sober, but is easy to understand and follow. The exercises are also well thought out and effective.
I can therefore only warmly recommend this book to committed parents.

Very good
In "Mindfulness not Freak-outs", Hunter Clarke-Fields shows in an impressive way how respectful parenting can help children to grow up with self-confidence. The book is not a typical parenting guide, but a guide to integrating mindfulness into everyday life with children.

Clarke-Fields emphasises the importance of empathy, patience and understanding when dealing with children. She shows that it is possible to resolve conflicts without tantrums and help children to better understand and regulate their emotions. Through practical exercises and examples from everyday life, she shows how parents and carers can create an atmosphere in which children feel safe and secure.

The book teaches not only how to be more mindful and patient as an adult, but also how to teach children to be mindful themselves and control their emotions. It is a valuable resource for parents, carers and anyone working with children.

Overall, Mindfulness Not Freaks Out is an inspiring and practical guide that shows how respectful parenting can help build strong and confident children. I can recommend this book to anyone who is looking for new approaches to raising children.
