The Kundalini Shakti is the mysterious life force in all organisms. All physical and mental functions are the effects of its activity. When it leaves the body at the moment of death, the body again disintegrates into its inorganic components. Although all the sense organs remain present immediately after death, without this life force no perceptions and no metabolic processes are possible.
The Kundalini Shakti operates from various centres (chakras). As the Kundalini rises to higher centres, one's perception of the world is completely transformed. The mind attains a higher level of concentration and a refinement that reveals the deepest truths of this universe. When the Kundalini Shakti reaches the crown of the head (Sahasrara), it leads the person to enlightenment and self-realisation.
The book also deals with the malfunctioning of the Kundalini as a cause of illness, which draws a direct parallel to the disturbance of the life force described by Hahnemann. The Kundalini can partially ascend under the influence of heat and cold, through drugs or intense emotions, which can cause migrating pains and temporary dysfunctions of various organs.
The author of this book, Swami Narayanananda, devoted over 50 years to the study of this life force and its effects on subtle thought functions. His work "The Primal Power in Man or the Kundalini Shakti" has become a classic in the field. Unlike many other authors who have merely compiled their "knowledge" from various writings, every single sentence in this book conveys the freshness and authenticity of personal experience.
