What are Zechstein magnesium flakes made of?
Original Zechstein magnesium flakes from Unimedica consist only of water and 47% magnesium chloride. The magnesium chloride is extracted from the Zechstein primeval sea at a depth of 1,600 metres. The Zechstein primeval sea lies beneath Europe and dried up around 250 million years ago. It contains magnesium in its purest form, as the sediments are protected from any environmental influences.
What makes Original Zechstein magnesium flakes a special skin care product?
These naturally pure magnesium flakes are not only excellent as an oil-free skin care product, but also a piece of geological heritage. A bath with a hint of the Zechstein primeval sea invites you to discover a long-forgotten world. The magnesium flakes pamper the body after sport or a long day in a simple, relaxing way.
For a relaxing foot bath dissolve 100 g of the magnesium flakes in 5–6 litres of water. The ideal water temperature is 37°C. Leave the feet to rest in the soothing solution for 20 to 30 minutes. For a full bath dissolve 500 g of the magnesium flakes in the bathtub. Fill only enough water to cover the body and enjoy the bath for 20 to 30 minutes. This application corresponds to a 1% magnesium chloride solution and provides soothing and revitalising care for body and mind.
Important notes:
Magnesium chloride is hygroscopic, i.e. it tends to clump as it absorbs moisture. This has no effect on the quality.
Avoid contact with the eyes; do not apply to open wounds or freshly shaved skin. Do not ingest. Avoid inhalation.
