Herbal mixture to make bitters

The large Swedish bitters formulation – traditional all-rounder

This large Swedish herbal recipe from Unimedica contains the herbs required to make a traditional herbal bitter with alcohol. The large recipe gives a somewhat milder herbal bitter than the stronger small recipe.

The well-known Swedish bitters contains herbs and roots with valuable plant substances, especially bitter substances. A glass of herbal bitters after a meal is a tradition found in many cultures.

The Swedish bitters made from Swedish herbs is above all a tried-and-tested home remedy. It can be used both externally and internally.

The mild bitter – Swedish bitters according to the large recipe

The original recipe for Swedish herbs was developed in the seventeenth century by the Swedish doctors Dr Samst and Dr Hjärne, whose name is also used for Swedish bitters.

The large Swedish bitters consists of the pure natural substances nutmeg, absinthe wormwood, angelica root, rhubarb root, myrrh, zedoary (white turmeric), valerian root, cinnamon, cardamom seed, silica, gentian root, clay, carline thistle, mace, camphor, tormentil, senna and saffron.

To make the Swedish bitters, the large recipe Swedish herbs are mixed with 38 to 40 % alcohol by volume (grain or fruit spirit/brandy). After 14 days the Swedish bitters can then be sieved and bottled. The recommended method is to take 1 teaspoon of Swedish bitters in a cup of herbal tea or water.

Each packet of Swedish bitters according to the large recipe from Unimedica contains 100 g dried Swedish herbs. This is enough for 1.4 litres of alcohol.

The large recipe Swedish bitters from Unimedica is, according to legal requirements, free of preservatives and is still free of additives such as colouring, stabilisers and separating agents such as magnesium stearate; it is also GMO-free, lactose-free, gluten-free and vegan.

Reibungsloser Ablauf.
