Selenium - the patron saint of our well-being

Selenium is one of the most important trace elements for our body. It protects the cells, supports the immune system and the maintenance of normal hair and nails and is important for the thyroid gland. White spots on the fingernails, thin, flaky skin or an increased susceptibility to illness can be indications of an insufficient supply of selenium.

As a component of many enzymes, selenium is involved in many metabolic processes. It is also needed to form defense cells for the immune system and sperm. It binds heavy metals and contributes to the formation of thyroid hormones.

Unimedica's Selenium Complex contains two selenium compounds: Sodium selenite and selenomethionine in a balanced 3:1 ratio, with selenium being inorganically bound in the sodium selenite. How do you get selenium from food?

    Unimedica - Selen Komplex Tabletten hochdosiert - 365 Tabletten
    Seit mittlerweile ca. 2 Monaten nehme ich diese Tabletten, ohne bisher eine Veränderung zu spüren, weder positiv noch negativ. Das überrascht mich nicht wirklich, auch wenn ich eine Veränderung erwartet hätte. Warum überrascht mich das nicht? Ich nehme ja bereits einige verschiedene Nahrungsergänzungsmittel, die sehr positive Auswirkungen hervor gebracht haben. Da ja der menschliche Körper Vitamine, Mineralien und auch Spurenelemente benötigt und man ihm diese auch zukommen lässt, kann man sagen, alles fügt sich mehr und mehr zusammen, wie bei einem großen Mosaik, Steinchen für Steinchen. Klar ist, dass Selen da auch sein Übriges tut, um das Ganze zu vervollständigen und zu verbessern. Deswegen wäre ich grundsätzlich gewillt gewesen, 5 Sterne zu vergeben.
    Warum ich aber 2 Sterne abgezogen habe, hat seinen Grund: Die Tabletten sind recht winzig und lassen sich gut schlucken, was sehr gut ist. Aber, beim Öffnen der Verpackung kommt einem immer wieder ein doch sehr übler Geruch entgegen. Ich weiss ja nicht, ob es nur bei mir so ist, oder ein generelles Problem. Hinzu kommt noch, das meiner Meinung nach die Verpackung für die winzigen Tabletten viel zu überdimensioniert ist. Maximal die Hälfte dürfte noch immer gut ausreichen. In der heutigen Zeit, in der Umweltschutz und Müllreduzierung, sowie schonender Umgang mit Resourcen, ein immer grösseres Thema wird, könnte man auch hier ansetzen und die Verpackungsgröße reduzieren. Das sollte machbar sein. Werden diese beide bemängelten Punkte behoben, gebe ich auch gerne 5 Sterne.     read more ...

    Mittlerweile würde ich ja gerne meine Bewertung auf 5 Sterne hochsetzen, wenn ich wüsste, wie. Es hat sich ja doch einiges getan. Die Verpackungsgröße wurde deutlich reduziert und auch auf Glas umgestellt! Auch der Geruch ist nicht mehr so unangenehm. read more ...

    Wieviel Selen pro Tag?
    Ich habe mir das Produkt Selen Komplex - 200 µg pro Tagesdosis hier gekauft und danach erfahren, dass die tägliche empfohlende Menge Selen bei Frauen bei 60 µg liegt. Es kann zu einer Selenvergiftung kommen, wenn man hochdosierte Nahrungsergänzungsmittel über einen längeren Zeitraum einnimmt. Jetzt bin ich verunsichert. Kann mir jemand eine genaue Auskunft hierzu geben? Danke.

    Leider mit Mikrokristalline Cellulose
    Ich kaufe regelmäßig diverse Prudukte beim Narayana Verlag aber leider ist in diesem Produkt Mikrokristalline Cellulose enthalten. Ich hoffe, dass sich das in absehbarer Zeit ändert, so kann ich dieses Produkt leider nicht empfehlen. read more ...

    Was ich sagen kann, ist, dass Selen auch Homöopathen gut bekannt ist. Es hat eine Wirkung auf das Nervensystem. Erkrankungen der Nerven nehmen stark zu, so dass Selen bzw. Selenium in den Fokus rücken sollte. In älteren Schriften wird über die Anwendbarkeit bei unwiderstehlichem Drang nach alkoholischen Getränken berichtet. read more ...
