SPECTRUM investigates addiction, a major issue of our time, presenting the practical experience of our international group of authors on the homeopathic treatment of substance addiction as well as non-substance addiction, such as compulsive shopping and gambling. With outstanding contributions from Frans Kusse on trauma and addiction, Jonathan Hardy on the use of milk remedies for bulimia and heroin addiction, and Ulrich Welte on compulsive gambling.

The treatment of addiction is as complex as the addiction itself. The Irish homeopath Declan Hammond, who has treated heroin addicts from the poor districts as well as workaholic cocaine-addicted yuppies, summarises his understanding of this topic with a quote from the Canadian addiction therapist Gabor Maté: “Many of us resemble the drug addict in our ineffectual efforts to fill in the spiritual black hole, the void at the center, where we have lost touch with our souls, our spirit – with those sources of meaning and value that are not contingent or fleeting. Our consumerist, acquisition-, action-, and image-mad culture only serves to deepen the hole, leaving us emptier than before.”

Every addition develops its own dynamic that finally – regardless of the type of addiction – leads to stereotypical behavioural patterns. This issue of SPECTRUM will surprise its readers because it offers an abundance of new findings and discoveries about the very well-known remedies such as Natrium (Sodium), Sulphur or Phosphorus. Many elements and compounds of the Silica series have already been examined by Hahnemann and used successfully to this day in homeopathic practice. However, astonishing new perspectives are revealed when these polychrests are considered systematically, theatrically or on the level of sensation in addition to the Materia medica. Our authors analyse the remedies of the 3rd series on the basis of the Periodic Table of Elements, which have been translated into human developmental periods, phases and stages by Jan Scholten.
“Me and You” is the comprehensive theme of the 3rd series. According to Jan Scholten, the Silica series corresponds to the life phase of a teenager with the main theme of relationships within the family and with friends. In addition to the body-oriented “I” of the Carbon series, in the 3rd series we come into contact and communication with another person who we want to like us, who we love or who we hate. The position that we assume within a relationship and the feeling of belonging to a group, characterise the respective level in the development with regard to the other person. Rheumatism is a widespread and multifaceted disease. Rheumatic disorders include around 240 various illnesses with differing symptom pictures and treatment modalities. The number of homeopathic remedies that can be used to treat rheumatism is even larger. We have chosen a selection of remedies to highlight certain trends, at the same time presenting various homeopathic approaches in the treatment of patients with rheumatism.

In the reading sample, author Jürgen Hansel shows how the picture of the classic rheumatism remedy Ruta graveolens encompasses not just the physical symptoms of chronic polyarthritis but also the typical personality traits of rheumatism patients. In the Rue remedy family, Ruta is assigned to the cancer miasm, which is also found in additional articles on rheumatism. For example, Artur Wölfel recognises the cancer miasm in a woman with lupus erythematodes, whose case is characterised by conformity and perfectionism. Suppressed feelings, also an aspect of this reaction pattern, play a major role in Urvi Chauhan‘s case of sero-negative polyarthritis. The remedy in this case is Opium, which is also assigned to the cancer miasm in the poppy family.

Taciturnity, emotional repression and perfectionism are also prominent in Massimo Mangialavori‘s case, pointing here to the Primrose family. Das Infekt-Spektrum ist eines der besten Hefte, die ich erinnere. So viele schlüssige Zugänge zum Mittel, alles von kompetenten Autoren geschrieben, so viele gute Facetten gibt es sonst nirgends in einer Zeitschrift. Jeder Artikel ist schlüssig und aufschlussreich.

Besonders gefallen haben mir die Tipps der erfahrenen Ute Bullemer, die ich bisher nicht kannte; ich werde an Anantherum denken bei der häufigen Portioerosion; Erodium ist übrigens auch öfters gut.

Heiner Freis Methode ist schlüssig dargestellt, bei uns längst dankbare Ergänzung des Alltags.

Super fand ich die Darstellung von T. Curtis über die Zitterpappel, die sie sehr schön schildert und durch Fälle belegt, die dann auch durch die Pflanzentheorie erklärbar sind: tolle Arbeit.

D. Payrhuber hat auch sehr schöne Fälle, vor allem die beiden Helleborus Fälle.

Auch Rajan Sankarans Pulsatilla Fall deckt sich mit unseren besten Puls-Fällen, sie sind nämlich nicht nur so sanft wie immer behauptet wird: diese Eigenschaft ist ein Teil des Bildes und entspricht Stadium 2. Die Tatsache, dass die Patientin empört einen Rikshafahrer ohrfeigte, fand ich interessant, denn es stimmt: die Ranunculaceae sind alle mehr oder weniger schnell empört und so gereizt, dass sie auch zuschlagen könn(t)en, wie man es von Staph kennt. Auch das innere oder äußere Zittern oder Beben gehört zu allen Ranunceln.

Franz Swoboda hat mich mit seinem ausgezeichneten Artikel sehr zum Lachen gebracht. Ergänzend wäre zu sagen, dass die Quintessenz seiner „Epidemie“ auch in Jan Scholtens Elementen beschrieben wird: Ant-t hilft praktisch in allen Fällen von chronischer Bronchitis mehr oder weniger (das hat er sonst von keinem Mittel so behauptet, und es stimmt), aber es heilt nicht. Vor allem seine neue Beobachtung der Mycoplasmennosode als Pendant ist sehr interessant.

Dann der Choleraartikel: einfach Super, das beste was ich über die Cholera bisher gelesen habe. Gerade die gute Widerlegung, dass nur das Meiden von Aderlässen und die (geringe) Flüssigkeitszufuhr der einzige Grund für die unbestreitbare Überlegenheit der damaligen homöopathischen Behandlungen sei, fand ich sehr schlüssig.

Dann die Iquilai Studie: wo findet man so was heute? Erstklassig.

Selbst Kate Birchs Birkentrunk für alle Impfprobleme fand ich interessant, auch wenn man sagen muss, dass man es sich auch selbst unnötig schwer machen kann durch zu viele theoretische Erwägungen. Man versteht zumindest, warum so alles in einen Trank gepackt werden muss. Immerhin ein schöner Fall.

Die Mollusken von Fr. Schuller-Schreib sind auch lohnenswert. In diesem Zusammenhang auch der Calc-Fall von K Adal.

Zu heilen sind nicht nur die Geschädigten! Wohl bedürfen grad auch die ANDEREN der Heilung: Verursacher, Mittäter, Mitverdiener, Mitläufer, Lügner, Prolongierer.... dieses ganzen Wahnsinns. Und da scheint mir keine bessere Arznei als Cadmium! Das treffliche Arzneimittelbild schildert Ulrich Welte in seiner "Silberserie" Stadium 12. Bezeichnend finde ich auch, daß Ulrich Welte auf S.152 DD die Schlangenmittel erwähnt, ja, die satanische Schlange.... read more ...

Sehr beeindruckt hat mich der Artikel über CO2. Weltweit sind alle Menschen betroffen, die eine Maske tragen. Dadurch erhöht sich der CO2-Gehalt im Blut, was für uns Menschen schädlich ist. Es löst Symptome aus, die dann leicht dem Virus untergeschoben werden können.
