High-quality premium vitamin B complex with direct efficacy
The special formulation of this vitamin B complex with bioactive B vitamins accounts for its direct efficacy: transformation in the body, as often required for synthetic vitamins (which are not found naturally in the human body) is unnecessary since these B vitamins are immediately bioavailable.
B vitamins are involved in numerous body processes. So for example vitamin B1 supports normal heart function and vitamins B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 and B12 contribute to a reduction in tiredness and fatigue.
For vitamin B12 both the natural and bioactive cobalamin forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin are used in equal amounts. Adenosylcobalamin is the most common bioactive form of vitamin B12 found in body tissues and food like meat. After adenosylcobalamin, methylcobalamin is the second variant of B12 that is essential for our bodies. It is also a natural bioactive coenzyme form, the most common form in our blood.
The folate source used is the premium folate source Quatrefolic® - a patented active form from Gnosis.
B vitamins in bioactive form plus cofactors – directly available for the body
The Vitamin B Complex bioactive from Unimedica contains all eight essential B group vitamins. The B vitamins used are in their natural (bio-identical) and bioactive forms, except for vitamin B1, which is not permitted in its active form in nutritional supplements. The vitamins in bioactive form are directly available to the body, without requiring initial conversion in the body into the active form. So the vitamins can be used more quickly and more efficaciously.
The Vitamin B Complex bioactive is supplemented with 4 cofactors, which support the action of B vitamins: choline, inositol, betaine and PABA work synergistically with the B vitamins. The body itself can make them in small amounts and they possess vitamin-like properties.
PABA, for example, works with vitamin B9 (folate) as a coenzyme in blood formation. Inositol is found in the cell membranes and is produced in the liver, brain and kidneys. From there it is distributed via the blood to the rest of the body. Inositol, among other things, works as a secondary messenger and constituent of the neurotransmitters in the brain. Choline has various functions in the human body and supports, for example, the enzyme system of the liver. Betaine is another form of the active choline. It plays a role in various metabolic processes.
Why do we need vitamin B?
The functions of the B vitamins in the body are closely related. Synergy is required to generate energy in the cells, to form DNA and RNA and to support the nervous system and many other key metabolic processes. These water-soluble vitamins are the precursors for cofactors in enzyme reactions. This plays a role, for example, in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. It is therefore also advisable to take B vitamins as a complex so their effect can be produced in synergy – supported by betaine, choline, PABA and inositol, which used to be counted as B vitamins. B vitamins function in many processes in our body. Vitamin B6, folic acid and vitamin B12 support, for example, the immune system whereas biotin contributes to normal skin and hair. A lack of vitamin B can therefore be expressed in many different ways.
Where are B vitamins found in daily food?
B vitamins and their cofactors are found both in plant and animal food, especially in eggs, meat, fish and milk, but also in nuts, wholegrain products and pulses.
Why Vitamin B Complex bioactive from Unimedica is a sensible addition
A balanced diet generally means you have a sufficient supply of these key vitamins. Yet in challenging times we need a lot of them and then healthy eating might not be enough, leading to a deficit. Supplementation with high-dose bioactive B vitamins in times of heightened need can make sense so we are less fatigued and tired.
