Peter Fisher has passed away

After a tragic accident Peter Fisher died in London on 15. August 2018 at the age of 67.

Peter Fisher was one of the leading homeopathic doctors in Great Britain and physician to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Below please find an excerpt of the obituary of the Faculty of Homeopathy:

Death of Dr Peter Fisher, President of the Faculty of Homeopathy

Peter Fisher, president of the Faculty of Homeopathy and Physician to the Queen, has died, it has been announced.

Dr Fisher, 67, was director of research at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, Europe’s largest centre for integrative medicine. He is understood to have been killed in a cycling crash near the hospital on Wednesday August 15.

As a specialist in both homeopathy and rheumatology, Dr Fisher published several research papers on homeopathy and other forms of complementary and alternative medicine.

A Cambridge graduate, he was a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, chair of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) working group on homeopathy and a member of WHO’s expert advisory panel on traditional and complementary medicine.

Greg White, Chief Executive of the Faculty of Homeopathy, paid tribute to Dr Fisher in a statement on the Faculty’s Facebook page.

“It is no exaggeration to say that in Peter we have lost an irreplaceable talent, a giant in all his fields of professional endeavour – as a clinician, a researcher, an academic and a champion of medical homeopathy. The loss is huge to his family and our community,” he said.

Mark Taylor, Chief Executive of the Society of Homeopaths, said: “For many years, Peter was the most prominent homeopath in the UK. His unceasing energy, academic credibility and passion for homeopathy will be missed in the UK and throughout homeopathic communities across the world.”

Faculty vice-president Dr Gary Smyth is to step up to the faculty presidency temporarily.
