Two cases demonstrate how the patient’s inner attitude is expressed in illnesses of the locomotor system. Frequently – as in the first case – the underlying theme is the perfectionist pattern typifying rheumatic complaints of the cancer miasm. In the second case a woman who is so dependent that she can hardly live her own life suffers unbearable fibromyalgia pain following the death of her mother with the associated loss of security and protection. The immaturity and dependence correspond homeopathically to a primitive organism from the cyanobacteria family. With the amelioration of the physical complaints in both cases there is a noticeable transformation in the patient’s inner attitude.
