The manufacturer states:

Berberine is an alkaloid belonging to the group of isoquinoline alkaloids, of which over 600 are known to date. The alkaloid occurs naturally in various plants, including barberry (Berberis aristata), from which it takes its name. Berberine is predominantly found in the roots, stem, bark and rhizome.

The berberine is complemented by the versatile zinc, here present as zinc citrate, providing 10 mg per daily dose.

Each container of Berberine 500 mg contains 90 capsules. This corresponds to a 3-month supply.

Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

The stated recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.

According to a video by Dr Mouton, it all depends on the objective: At first - 3 g per day for 5 days each month for 3–4 months to destroy intestinal biofilms and perform a thorough cleanse - then a lower dose to maintain the microbiota and reduce intestinal permeability.

Berberine has no side effects. Real medicines, such as metformin, can have side effects. Good food supplements generally have no side effects. Berberine can be combined with all other supplements. I've been doing so for 11 years and I'm doing great.
