Darjeeling tea is especially mellow and is therefore regarded as one of the best teas in the world. Tea generally contains a number of valuable natural ingredients. For example tannin gives the tea its mildly tart taste.

How green tea leaves becomes black tea

Black tea is created by natural fermentation of the leaves of the tea plant. After the harvest the leaves are dried and intensively rolled. This breaks the cell walls of the tea leaves, releasing the enzymes necessary for oxidation. The leaves thereby turn black as the oxidation intensifies, creating a full-bodied flavour with numerous nuances of taste.

ORGANIC Darjeeling black tea from Unimedica is brewed with hot water, releasing a heady aroma. It can be enjoyed hot or cold – for example, with a dash of lemon juice.
